The Global Ecology Lab ("we," "us," "the Lab") is a research group at James Cook University, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we use it.
What we collect
Mailing list: If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your name and email address via a Google Form. This data is stored in Google's systems and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Website usage: This site is built on Google Sites. Google may collect standard technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages visited) as described in Google's own privacy policy. We do not run separate analytics or tracking tools ourselves.
Contact: If you email us directly, we collect whatever information you choose to send us.
How we use it
We use your details only to send lab updates you've signed up for, and to respond to enquiries. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time (link included in every email, or by contacting us). You can ask us what information we hold about you, or request it be deleted.
Third-party services
This site links to and relies on third-party platforms (Google Sites, Google Forms, JCU systems, social media). Those services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
