MARINE LECHENE

Marine Lechene is from New-Caledonia and studied in France and Australia. She completed her Bachelor's in Biology and Ecology from The University of Montpellier (France) and Master's in Marine Science and Management from The University of Sydney (Australia). She is currently doing her PhD at James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Science with Dr Renata Ferrari, Prof Morgan Pratchett, Associate Professor William Figueira and Dr Nick Murray. Her project aims to quantify demographic rates and spatial distribution of hard coral colonies using 3D photogrammetry and investigate how these drivers are influencing coral population structure. She hopes this will contribute to our understanding of how and why abundances of scleractinian corals change through times and thus better inform coral reef management and restoration interventions.
